Good Friday!

Happy Good Friday to all!

I wish I didn't have to work, it didn't even really occur to me that today was good Friday until I pulled into the parking lot and noticed the abundance of close spots.

When ever this happens, I instantly know it's gong to be a slow day and wish I would have taken a vacation day too. As the day goes on, I become increasingly bitter I'm at work and think about leaving early, but never do.

The WORST is the week between Christmas and New Years. If I can help it, I will never work that week for the rest of my work career. It blows.

Hope you all have a great Easter weekend. To celebrate, I thought I'd share the photos from Mr. Mister's Easter photo shoot. I die.

Entire outfit is form Children's Place. The store selection is always very picked over, but I love shopping online.

Weigh In Wednesday

First I'd like to say thanks to the new readers who stopped by yesterday from the Linkup - welcome!

Second, so it's that time of the week where I don't have to feel guilty for weighing myself first thing in the morning because it's Weigh In Wednesday!
So here it is...

166.4 - I'm ok with this number, but not super happy. I went off my diet healthy eating here and there over the weekend, but for the most part, did pretty well. I didn't binge eat which is my norm. And I did a protein day yesterday so kind of expected to see a 165.

I have .5 more pounds I need to loose to win my DietBet. And 6 more days. I thought I'd be well under  by now.

I don't know about you all, but weekends are terribly hard for me. It's like I want to pretend I'm on vacation and just eat everything in sight.

Also, Monday we went out for MIL's b-day dinner and I ate a steak. It was so delicious and I ate all of it. Member of the clean plate club for sure.

But I ordered asparagus sans the glorious butter sauce and didn't eat a bite of bread or the other appetizers that were sitting there calling screaming my name. So I must give myself a pat on the back for that too.

I just realized our Mexico vaca is TWO months away. Shit, I gotta get on the 30 Day Shred/workout kick to tone up before it's too late.

That's my goal for this week - get serious about my working out.

Link it up!

button

This is a linkup, a what? A linkup!

Don't worry. I didn't know what one was either and am still not 100% sure I get it.

Anyway, I'm participating in Jake and Holly's Linkup and here it goes...

1. If calories didn't count, I would eat EVERYTHING.

2. On my Prom night I wore a ridiculous expensive dress and regreat making my hard working mom spend money she didn't have on it. Whoa, that just got deep.

3. When I go to the store, I always buy bottled water. I know, I'm ruining the environment one bottle at a time but it's the only way I'll actually drink water.

4. Family functions typically are fun for me. I thrive on drama and good food.

5. I think my blog readers are out there somewhere.

6. I'd much rather be winning the lottery.

7. I have an obsession with the Real Housewives of every single city.

8. My work friends have no idea I blog.

9. When I created my Facebook account I thought MySpace was so much cooler.

10. My least favorite word is panties. Ew, I just said it in my head when I typed it and got a chill. I call them underwear.

11. I really don't remember the summer before my senior year of college. I like to refer to it as, "the summer I was drunk." Oh college, so many bad decisions were made there.

12. Justin Bieber needs to put a shirt one. What's up with all the shirtless paparazzi pics lately?

Weekend recap

Hello, hello!!!!!

Weekend was jam-packed! First I was super sad that I wasn't in D-town at Blissdom. It is apparently a big mommy blogger convention that all my favs were at. I didn't know a thing about it until last week and then suddenly I wanted to hop on a plane and go to SkinnyMeg's b-day party on Saturday night.

However, after reading all the posts today, looks like I didn't miss much in the way of the conference, but did miss out on some seriously fun girl time.

I think Holly is onto something and really should start her own. Totes.

Since I wasn't living it up at Blisdom wearing my fav Kiki La 'Rue dress, I settled for cleaning out my closet and jewelry stash on Friday night. This was when I discovered that new necklace I ordered, well, I already owned it.

#ShoppingProblems
@amcallahan
I generally have a hard time getting rid of clothing and accessories. I'm a stage 5 horder when it comes to that. So I was super proud of myself to let all these pretties go.

I also have a HUGE shoe problem. Huge. I'm always looking for ways to store them. It's as if I can neatly hide store them, then it's ok that I have over 100 pairs. I did some Google research and found this bad boy at Ikea. I think I love it, but have no idea where I'd put it. Also, I know I'll have to put that B together and it looks like it has loss of parts. Oh Ikea, can't you sell preassembled stuff for the same ridiculous cheap price?

We had family in town so Mr. Mister went to the grandparent's to visit his cousin on Saturday. She was super sweet with him and kept trying to share the toys. All he wanted to do was eat them.

The sis-in-law and I took the kiddos out for a little outlet shopping. My favorite part about our outlet, besides the fact they just got a LOFT Outlet (score!) is there is this kettle korn place that makes it hot and fresh right there. They also give out free samples which seem to do the trick, because I came home with a bag. #dietfail

Had some fun with sunglasses. I'm pushing my accessory issues on him - I kid. We only bought one pair. The black ones becuase the aviorts were cute, but were sharp and really for a 4-6 year old and the blue ones, well, they were too Kanye for Mr. Mister and that's not really his style. Yet.

And spring bloomed in my closet after a successful shopping trip at the LOFT outlet and JCP.

Sunday I ran around and returned a buch of stuff I had bought last weekend. That's what I do, I get all caught up in the moment and buy it, then have shoppers remorse and head back in about a week to return it and then find more things I have to have while I'm there. Vicious cycle.

With all the items that got vetoed out of my closet, I visited Clothes Mentor. It is resale shop that buys your stuff from you and pays cash on the spot. I just learned it's a national chain.

I've been only one time before and didn't do as well as I did yesterday. First of all, I only got $40 and spent it all and some back in the store. But yesterday, I got a little over a hundy and walked out the door with all of it! Whoop, whoop. Paid for my shopping spree on Saturday!

Capped off Sunday night with some smut TV. I'm always mesmerized by TLC's My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. Who wouldn't love a wedding where the bridesmaids dressed like this?

Oh and it snowed here Sunday. WTF? Where is spring????

I sucked it up on the exercise front this weekend. Besides the walking from all the shopping, I did nothing. Not. a. thing. Booooooo!

#30dayshred

This happened last night. Shit just got real.

And this is how I felt after I did it. I'm so out of shape. I was feeling the burn on warm up exercise number two!

Confession- I found the DVD well over a week ago and did it for the first time last night.

But let's focus on the positive here, I did it and it's a start.

Today has been a protein day and I want to shovel food in my mouth.

I didn't have anything for snack because I still suck at going to the grocery so I went to the vending machine to get peanuts and all they had was a bag of sweet and salty stuff-- basically peanuts mixed with fake m&ms and raisins. Temptation!

But I picked all the sweet stuff out and tossed it in my dirty coffee cup so I wouldn't eat it. Because lets be honesty, if it were in a clean cup, I might dig it out of the trash and eat it. Don't act like you've never done that.

Confession #2- coffee has crept back into my daily routine. With Splenda!! I'm almost of of powder creamer so I've told myself when it runs out I'm done. Maybe I'll try it black... and never go back.

Weigh in Wednesday

Happy first day of spring! We have spring weather here so I've officially caught spring fever. Man I wish I still got a spring break. I could use one right about now.

So weigh in today wasn't so great. Because I'm still weighing myself every morning (I can't help it) I know I was 165.8 Tuesday morning so I was all WTF? when 167.6 poped up this morning.

I stayed on track eating yesterday and even went for a longer walk than normal with MR. Mister. Who the heck knows. I guess this is why I need not weigh every morning.

So down only .2 form last week but I guess I should be happy it's still a loss. AND, I haven't done a protein day this week. I wasn't prepared enough on the grocery front to do one yesterday so I need to do that and hopefully a pound or two (fingers crossed!) will come off.

Hope you have gorgeous weather wherever you are and can get out and enjoy it today!

Weekend Recap

Ugh, it's a cold and rainy Monday here. Booooo!

Weekend was good, I mean, it was the weekend after all.

Started it out with the BOB arriving in the mail on Friday, gawd I love Amazon. The Hubs put it together while I fed Mr. Mister and then we went for a stroll around the block with it, it's inaugural ride. I have to say, I love it. So much easier to push than the regular stroller.

Little Miss Rox got goroomed and a green bow for St. Patty's day.

Look at that face!

Saturday was Easter photo day so after a quick trip to the mall to finish up Mr. Mister's outfit, we were off to his photo session and look at this cutie. The photos turned out amazing. More to come on those.

Sunday's festivities were RUINED by the rain. We had planned on going to Busch Gardens to celebrate St. Patty's day, but ended up staying around the house most of the day. I was for whatever reason in a fairly bad mood. I guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

Had a lot of laundry to put away so this little guy kept me company while I cleaned up his mess.

And then it was photo shoot number 2 of the weekend with his festive St. Patty's day attire.

We then ventured out for a bit with a trip to Lows, such the suburbanites. As we were walking in the exit a staff person made some snide comment about it being the 'exit' and without flenching I said back somehting along the lines, "It's raining and cold out and we have a BABY. Sorry I didn't want to walk another 50 feet to use a different door. Get over it."

The Hubs was pissed and embarrassed. Whatever. I told you I was in a bad mood.

We went to buy a ceiling fan for our room and when we walked out I noticed this... Ha, sorry employee of the month, hope you found a parking space.

Ended it all with installing the son of a b ceiling fan. Truth be told, Hubs did most the work and I just had to go help when needed. I put the one up in our living room and let me tell ya, if you've never put one up, don't do it! After about 3 hours and a few YouTube videos, success! This sucker even has a remote control, fancy.

I said I'd announce the give-a-way winner today, but ummm, no one entered. I have stats on this blog and know lots of you people read this thing so what gives?!? No one wanted my necklace??? Ultimate insult!

Friday Favorites and a Giveaway!

Happy Friday! Time to kick the weekend off with a rundown of all my favorite things this week.

You might recall BIC Bands were on my list last Friday. Well another blogger I follow, Skinny Meg, raves about Brady Bands.

I finally checked them out and they seemed to be just like the BIC Bands, but cheaper. So I ordered one two to do a trial, and sure enough, just as wonderful.

I even slept with it on last night and woke up with it still in place - AMAZING!

Also, at least 10% of every sale is donated to childhood cancer research. So basically, it's guilt free shopping, yay!

I cussed Daylight Savings the first two days because I really wanted my hour of sleep back, but now I LOVE it. Coming home and still having daylight is fantastic and has motivated me to get out and go for walks with Mr. Mister and our pup, Roxie. She's a fierce 6-pound yorkie who is spoiled rotten.

I've tried out a lunch delivery service or sorts this week. We have a friend who has started her own business, Because Life Happens where basically she's your go-to girl for all things you don't want to do or are too busy to do.

So for me, that's prepare healthy and delicious salads for lunch to keep me on my MILF quest. It has been wonderful to know my lunch is in the fridge and all I have to do is remember to grab it in the mornings. I eat at my desk most days and if I don't bring a lunch, I end up eating whatever crap is around the office so this has helped keep me on track.

And lets end this with a giveaway!

I ordered a necklace from GroopDealz and not 100% in love with it so I want to send it out to a new home where it will be loved and worn. I have waaaaay too much jewelry to keep things that I don't love.

So here it is, this mint 'wilma' necklace could be yours! Just follow the Rafflecopter directions and I'll announce the winner on Monday.

MILF Update - so bright!

I got this gift certificate for a teeth whitening treatment from a coworker. She won it at a meeting and didn't want it so I snagged that shit.

Now you'd think with this being for teeth whitening it'd be at say a dentist's office. Nope, tanning salon. Hummm.

The gift certificate was due to expire tomorrow, so being the procrastinator I am, I called today to make an appointment and the 17 year old on the other end was all, "you can like totally come in today, like, if you want," so I decided it was the perfect thing to do for lunch.

When I walk in said 17 year old looks a lot like Anna from MTV's Buckwild (told you I liked smut TV) and she asked me, "What was your name?" It took everything in me to not make a snide comment, well it was Ricles before I got married, but now it's Callahan. I'm sure it would have been lost on her.

Glad I didn't because front desk, tanning bed cleaner chick also became teeth whitening guru. Hummmmm.

She awkwardly talks me through the process and then 'measures the color of my teeth' so we can see how much they improve.

I then get set up in a back yard lounge chair (fancy!), a mouthguard full of syrium and sweet glasses. Que the UV light and let 'em cook for 20 minutes... while I take photos.

Had to Instagram this shit, @amcallahan

Good thing I have a big light coming out of my mouth
to distrack from my nasty hair. Get haircuts much? Nope.

Results? According to the guru, I improved 4 shades. I think it's more like 2 and lets just say I'm glad I didn't pay the $250 value this supposedly was. Sure they're a little brighter, but nohting you can't accomplish with some Crest Whitestrips.

Sorry, I didn't have enough forethought to take before photos for a before/after.
